Book Blogger Hop!
6:35 PMBook Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy For Books made to help showcase your blog to other bloggers out there with the same interests!
"What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?"
Both! As you guys can probably tell from reviews, I evaluate both the plot and the characters while reading/ writing a review. Just because you have good characters, it doesn't mean the plot's good enough to keep my attention.

I agree both are important, but I'm much more forgiving of a slow plot with fully fleshed out characters than I am of a book that has good plotting but shallow, undeveloped characters. I need to believe the people are real.

Joining you from over at the Book Blogger Hop, it's nice to have met you, I've enjoyed my visit. With regard to your question, I have to say characters are probably slightly more important to me though plot is a very close second.

ReplyDeleteI think both plot and characters need to be great for me to love a book...otherwise I find it dull haha
I'm totally with plot. :) The most solid answer to this question but it's still on someone's preference. Anyway, read my answer in Clandestine Sanctuary.

I need good characters or I probably won't like the book. But everybody's different.

This was indeed, a great question this week. I will have to say, after thinking it over, I realized that plot is more important to me than characters. Not that characters are unimportant, just that, if nothing happens in the story, then I won't feel like reading it!
ReplyDeletehey there! im another visitor from the hop, i love the colors of your blog :) esp. the header colors :)
