Synopsis:

Since she'd been on the outside, she'd survived an Aether storm, she'd had a knife held to her throat, and she'd seen men murdered. This was worse.

Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland - known as The Death Shop - are slim. If the cannibals don't get her, the violent, electrified energy storms will. She's been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He's wild - a savage - and her only hope of staying alive.

A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile - everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria's help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, Aria and Perry must accept each other to survive. Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.

Review:
Under the Never Sky originally drew me in with it's beyond gorgeous cover, but as soon as I started it, I knew I had started something great. There were some surprises that I did not see coming, such as the abilities some of the Outsider's possessed, giving the book a paranormal feel on top of the dystopian one that I went in craving. On top of the surprise abilities, the characters also showed an intense amount of deep thought, thinking of the past, present and future frequently and how the events playing out would effect them in the long run. Aria began as a sheltered individual, never having left her home before, but she began to adapt to the more realistic outside world. Peregrine, on the other hand, began the book with the opposite circumstances, he was an outsider trying to get along with a sheltered insider, they had to meet each other half way and the result was quite enjoyable. Plot-wise, the story was fantastic, never slowing or ceasing to amaze the reader with the dangerous new world of the future. It was truly the writing that won my attention and the author did a great job weaves a nearly seamless story with her way with words. When reading the book, I found myself enthralled by both the point of view of Aria and Peregrine even though both were very different in their views of the world. The only thing I regret about this book was not getting earlier and for that I give it a 5/5.
