Heart-wrenchingly beautiful, Mia's story will stay with you for a long, long time.

Review:
Recently I borrowed a book from another blogger for the first time (thanks to Makayla from Books Galore) and I found myself to like the book I borrowed. What book? If I Stay by Gayle Forman. Altogether, this book was good, but not the best. The biggest part that fell through for me was the characters. I just didn't feel a connection to any of the characters for some reason. Another point that was not strong in my eyes was how the story was told in flashbacks. I found myself much more interested in the current time than the flashback pieces. My favourite parts of this book were the moments of the present and the emotion I felt at times. These were the moments I lived for in this book, but they unfortunately did not come often enough for my tastes. Though I didn't feel completely connected to the characters in this book and the flashbacks didn't always work with me, I'd give this book a 3/5.

  1. Interesting. Flashbacks are tough to use well, in my opinion. A lot of times they can be frustrating to the reader.
