Synopsis:
When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies.
So when teen pop star Eden croaks onstage and Kaylee doesn't wail, she knows something is dead wrong. She can't cry for someone who has no soul.
The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad's ironclad curfew and putting her too-hot-to-be-real boyfriend's loyalty to the test. But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls: a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld—a consequence they can't possibly understand.
Kaylee can't let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk….
Review:
After reading the first book and thinking it was simply OK, I dove into this book with higher hopes, but unfortunately, this book did not live up anywhere near those. I wanted to like the book so much, but it just didn't feel like anything really changed in the character's lives. They went through a massive adventure, but they didn't seem to be all that effected by it. I didn't feel very connected to any of the characters and I really felt that Nash was way too controlling of Kaylee in particular. As for the plot, it moved at a fairly quick pace, but it never really caught my attention. The writing style was good, one of my favorite parts of the book, filling in the details without leaving much out, but not overloading the reader. The end was one of the better parts, featuring loss, but not much of a cliffhanger. When all was said and done, I will probably try one more book of this series before giving up on it, but until then, I give My Soul to Save a 2.5/5.
